Better late than never

I've been trying to catch up over the last few weeks on some of the jobs I had planned for the summer, which got scuppered for one reason or another. With the Autumn coming (my favourite time of the year) and a new study year looming I knew if I didn't get this one job out of the way, it would be next summer before I could reap the benefit.

So I went about turning this fabric into

these cushions

and this bunting

and Mr M set about painting the inside of this

Ta dah

And now my long awaited beach-hut/summerhouse is complete

And filled with all the paraphernalia I've been buying all summer

This is the nearest I'm ever going to get to owning a beach-hut so looking forward to relaxing with a good book, a cup of tea (or wine in the evening) and listening to my favourite music with maybe a seagull or two in the background - well a girl can dream can't she!

Bye for now

  2. Hello Patricia:
But this looks simply wonderful and you have so obviously collected up a great number of very suitable, seaside items to include over a period of time. And such a number of touches which indicate a keen eye for detail.

We do so hope that you will enjoy some warm September days and evenings in which to enjoy your 'beach hut'. Here in Budapest the week is set for in excess of 30C and full sun!

  5. Oooh, how lovely! It looks absolutely perfect, and the sweetest place to relax. You should enter it in next year's 'Shed of the Year' competition! x

  6. That does look very nice but I can't have one simply because I dislike spiders. Our normal shed (when we had one) always had things creeping or moving around in it and I only went if if I really had to!

  7. How lovely! I hope we have some warm September days so that you can sit in your beach hut. Your cushions and bunting are so pretty - we hear herring gulls all over now so they remind you of the sounds of the coast and you can imagine there is sea and sand just around the corner:)

  9. I have similar hopes for my summerhouse Patricia and having seen how beautiful yours looks I am all inspired again, but first I must finish off all the decorating jobs indoors, oh well there's always next summer xx
