Ring out the old ....

...and ring in the new ...

Part of the medieval Southwark Cathedral with a backdrop of the newly built Shard
on a recent visit to London

Just a quick post to wish everyone A Happy New Year and hope you all had a lovely Christmas. Ours was great and we spent some fun time with our children and grandchildren. I must say though that it is really nice to be able to get back to normal again after all the hype and rushing around before the big day, love it as I do. The  tree has gone and the decs are down and all is calm again in our household. We are now off to Belgium for five days - to the medieval towns of Ghent and Bruges which we are much looking forward to.

Must just show you this unseasonal cherry blossom I spotted two days before Christmas in Southwark.  How odd is this?

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL MY BLOGGING FRIENDS

Will catch up with you all next week.

You are off to my favorite city...Bruges. I used to go 3 or 4 times a year when my health was better. I miss going. Enjoy!

Did the little package arrive by Christmas?

  16. Happy New Year, Patricia, what a great idea to whizzoff somewhere nice to get yourselves over the post Christmas slump! We go to New Zealand to see no 2 son and family soon and I can't wait!

I've never been to Belgium - though my other half has - and always mean to take a trip over there someday; retirement means this is now more likely!

Hope you have/had a lovley time. All best, Lynne xxx

  17. Hi Patrica, Happy New Year and have fun in Belgium. I can not wait to see your photos. Your blog is always so very interesting.

Oh, I do hope that John starts journaling . . . it is a wonderful way to share your life with those that follow you down life's path. A special place to get lost in and doodle away the stress of the day :)
I hope that he will let you share some of his pages on your blog, or even start his own blog (let me know, I would love to follow his artful journey).
Have a day filled with joy.
    Your blogging sister, Connie :)

  18. I love cherry blossoms... and when ever I'm near the Shard I always see like 5 different men on the side of it cleaning... wayyyyyyy up high near the top, and my heart sinks for them! I could never do that job, I don't like heights at the best of times!
I hope your New Year is off to a great start, Much love, Tammy xx
