Five on Friday - January

I'm joining in with Five on Friday organised by Amy at Love Made my Home where once a month we take five minutes from our day to enjoy five things. Do pop in to see what others in my group are up to at the bottom of the page.

This month I'm sharing a few of my recent makes.

1. I'm enjoying creating and making mini photo albums and journals. Here are a few that I've gifted or kept for myself.

2. I found this crocheted cowl on Pinterest and simply had to make it in advance of any colder weather. So cosy and warm too and only took about four hours to make.

Not very good at "Selfies" I'm afraid.

3. Nothing better than a bowl of homemade veggie soup - wouldn't be without my soup maker. I just threw in some veggies that were sitting in the fridge - carrots, onion, courgette, swede etc., plus a tin of tomatoes, stock cube, seasoning, herbs - basil, oregano and top up with about 500 mls water. Yummy.

4. Tomato Chutney - a must with cheeses, cold meats, pork pies etc. Not sure why I only make it in the winter though.

5. Back on the crafting note here are a couple of gift bags/envelopes I made and have put aside for upcoming birthdays

  1. What lovely crafty makes, your yarn looks very chunky just the thing for keeping the cold out along with the soup.

  2. Nice work, I particularly like the journals. The cowl looks so warm, I live in turtle necks because I hate for my neck to get cold.

  4. Love the journals. Sure they are well received gifts. Love the idea of a soup maker. Not come across that before.

  5. Hello Patricia,

We are definitely not the crafty kind and your hand made goodies look wonderful. How delighted the receivers of the gifts will be. It is so much more special to have something which has been lovingly created by hand.

Soup is the national dish here in Hungary so we are very lucky to have some always on the go. It is such a versatile food and full of goodness when made with fresh vegetables. Yours does look delicious!

  8. It looks like you've been busy, Patricia! January is such a great crafting month. Is your soup maker a high speed blender? Does it heat the soup up, or just mix it?

  20. Paper crafting is a mystery to me, Patricia, and I adore your albums, journals, and the pretty envelopes. All are gorgeous. You are quite a busy bee, and making chutney too, my favourite condiment. YUM! xox

  21. Love all your makes Patricia. You're so creative! I'm sure the cowl will be welcome during these cold days I would love to know how to do that collage with the photo in the centre. I use Picasa and PicMonkey and wonder if it's an advanced PicMonkey facility? I'm having computer connection problems at the moment so my work on it is slow and I'm having to be kept it simple and straightforward. xx

  22. I love all the results of your creativity, Patricia. I've never tried crafting with paper, but your images are very tempting. I make lots of soup, but in the old way on the stove. I'd never thought of buying a soup maker, but must investigate the possibility.
