Such an abundance of colour
I can't believe how late the daffodils are this year. We've had some flowering in the garden but these were wonderful
The gardens were gorgeous and there was plenty to see
This is a 'hotel' for insects - made up of various objects and garden waste
Everything is just that little bit later this year but oh so pretty
Love hyacinths - the fragrance always reminds me of my childhood
We had such a lovely afternoon which we finished off with a nice cup of tea in the restaurant and a browse around the shop (like you do). So much so that we decided to re-join the RHS as our's had lapsed many years ago and as we are only about an hour away from RHS gardens at Wisley it made sense. Plus you can go into many other 'partner' gardens free of charge of which there are 145 around the country many belonging to country houses and stately homes.
I'd like to welcome my new followers The silver bunny, Halloween couple and Lanya - thank you for joining me and look forward to getting to know you.
Fabulous weekend, wasn't it? We didn't go far afield, just pottered in the kitchen and the garden, but it was lovely.

You've been lucky to find a nice display of daffodils this year - I don't think they've liked the weather at all! I managed to find a few ditches full of primroses while we were walking on Sunday. They are SO late too. Jx
ReplyDeleteHi Patricia, great minds think alike! We went garden visiting on sunday too.I always feel inspired whenever I visit someone else's garden and always come away with ideas. I have never been to the garden you visited but we have been to RHS Harlow Carr, Harrogate which is fab.(Plus they have a Betty's tea room, an added bonus!).
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pics, wish my garden looked like that! ;-) I just love that whole field of daffies. Good idea to renew your membership - having it will encourage you to visit all these lovely gardens.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week,
Xx
I love looking around gardens, and love the yellow book for that. You are lucky to be able to go around an RHS garden at different time of the year to see it change. Xxx
ReplyDeleteGosh, if I lived within rwech of the RHS gardens I'd join too, Patricia. Such gorgeous flowers, even after such a hard winter. Thank you for those lovely photos so full of colour.
ReplyDeleteHow nice to be near a RHS garden! It's a tonic to see the flowers blooming now especially when there's an opportunity to visit gardens such as Hyde Hall where you took those lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteThe flowers of the English Spring are just so beautiful, and what a great idea to join the RHS gardens. I am sure you will enjoy visiting them all. Those daffodils look a treat!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a perfect Sunday afternoon to me. The flowers look lovely - especially the daffodils:)
ReplyDeletePatricia, nice yellow daffodils, mine are growing but yet no flowers, I think is nice to be RHS member, visit other gardens, know about new flowers and design.
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect way to spend a sunny Sunday, in a lovely garden full of beautiful flowers.
ReplyDeleteThose daffys are so beautiful! It's so good to see the sudden burst of colour everywhere. x

ReplyDeleteHi Patricia,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment on my lemoney yoghurt cake. In answer to your question, I used a standard loaf tin :-)
Hi Patricia, this was a lovely garden and I love the insect hotel. It looks like it would make a lovely garden fence or divider in a garden space.
ReplyDeleteI am back from my trip and I had a wonderful time. Lots of family fun with my two granddaughters, and although my daughter had her head buried in her books most of the time, we did have some great time to visit, too. When I left she was caught up with all her studies and feeling fresh and ready to take on the world, again. God blessed us all in many wonderful ways, this week. Thank you for your sweet comment, you're a dear sweet friend.
Your blogging sister, Connie :)
What a great weekend you must have had, the photos of the gardens are lovely.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely place to visit. That insect hotel looks very well made. I tried piling some old logs in a corner of the garden, but it just looks messy! xx
ReplyDeleteHi Patricia,
ReplyDeleteI've just realised I haven't read a post from you in a long time and was wondering whether everything's Ok with you and yours.
